Bulletin No. 78 has mailed!

This 68-page issue is the third installment of the “Disaster in the Suburbs” series covering the Riverside and Downers Grove wrecks. A prior Bulletin on the Montgomery wreck, which was technically outside the suburban service area, and future Bulletin articles will expand the Chicago-Aurora perimeters to Chicago-North Aurora-Batavia and Somonauk. Yes, there were dinkies to those extreme points. They will take the reader from Aurora-Somonauk on what crews referred to as the “shop train.” We already took the reader to North Aurora-NIFA in Bulletin No. 51 on the race course trains and will take the reader to Batavia in an article on the West Chicago line.
