The BRHS accepts Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD).  A Qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is generally a nontaxable distribution made directly by the trustee of the donor’s IRA to an organization eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions. The donor must be at least age 70 1/2 when the distribution is made. QCD’s can only be made through a direct transfer of IRA funds to charities that qualify under the tax code.
We are not allowed to give tax advice, so to make this type of contribution, contact your
tax preparer and the company that holds your IRAs. Our Treasurer, Bill Hirt, can then provide the information from the BRHS that you will need. He can be contacted at BRHSTreasurer@BurlingtonRoute.org.
